Description
Indulge in the ease and flavor of our Slow Cooker Tomato-Free BBQ Chicken. Tender chicken meets our special tomato-free BBQ sauce for a simple, delicious, and GERD-friendly meal. Cook, shred, enjoy – it’s that easy!
Ingredients
- Tomato-Free BBQ Sauce (Check out our recipe HERE)
- Chicken – boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
Instructions
- Prepare the BBQ Sauce: Follow the easy steps to create a big-flavor, acid-free, tomato-free sauce.
- Layer the Ingredients: Place chicken in the slow cooker and pour the tomato-free BBQ sauce over it. Make sure every piece is well-coated.
- Set and Forget: Cover the slow cooker, set it to low heat, and let the chicken cook for 6-7 hours until it’s tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- Shred the Chicken: After cooking, carefully remove the chicken, shred it with two forks, and return the shredded chicken to soak in the flavorful sauce in the slow cooker.
Notes
- To save time in the morning, prep the BBQ sauce the night before and store it in the refrigerator until ready to use.
- If you’re short on time, you can use store-bought tomato-free BBQ sauce as a convenient alternative. I’ve tried this ONE and it’s pretty good.
