Healing Ingredients In Heartburn Ginger Tea

Marshmallow Root

Marshmallow root has been used for centuries to treat digestive problems, including acid reflux and heartburn. This herb contains mucilage, a substance that coats and soothes the lining of the esophagus and stomach, protecting it from the harmful effects of acid.

In addition to its soothing properties, marshmallow root can also help reduce inflammation in the digestive tract, which can further relieve acid reflux and heartburn symptoms.

Slippery Elm

Slippery elm is another herb that can help soothe and protect the digestive tract. Like marshmallow root, slippery elm contains mucilage, which coats the esophagus and stomach, reducing irritation and inflammation.

In addition to its soothing properties, slippery elm also contains antioxidants, which can help protect the digestive tract from further damage caused by acid reflux.

Calcium Carbonate

Calcium carbonate is a naturally occurring antacid that can help neutralize stomach acid and relieve reflux symptoms. This compound works by reacting with stomach acid, forming calcium chloride, carbon dioxide, and water.

Calcium carbonate is found in a few different natural sources. We’ve used a version that comes from food grade limestone. It is important to note that excessive intake of calcium can cause constipation and other digestive problems.

Pwedered Coconut Milk

Coconut milk is a rich source of healthy fats and can be an effective natural remedy for heartburn and acid reflux. This milk contains lauric acid, which can help soothe the digestive tract and reduce inflammation.

In addition to its anti-inflammatory properties, coconut milk also contains vitamins and minerals that can help support digestive health.

Granulated Honey

Did you know honey can help relieve heartburn symptoms? This sweet nectar contains enzymes that can help break down food in the digestive tract, reducing the amount of acid produced by the stomach.

Honey also has antibacterial properties, which can help protect the digestive tract from harmful bacteria.

Ginger

This common kitchen spice can also be an effective natural remedy for reducing heartburn. The ginger root contains compounds that can help reduce inflammation and soothe the digestive tract, reducing acid reflux symptoms.

In addition to its anti-inflammatory properties, ginger also contains antioxidants that can help protect the digestive tract from further damage caused by acid reflux.

How to Customize Heartburn Ginger Tea

You’re going to love this heartburn ginger tea! The taste is like a nice chai latte. One note though, stir as you drink, it keeps the herbs from settling at the bottom.

Also, this mix is very customizable, feel free to sub in liquid honey and coconut milk, or leave out the calcium carbonate- just whatever is simple and appropriate for your diet.

Get creative! We’ve been turning this heartburn ginger tea into heartburn ginger shakes! Simply by adding a banana and some ice and blend until smooth.

Shopping for Heartburn Ginger Tea

Shopping for all the ingredients for heartburn ginger tea can seem a bit tricky, but all these ingredients can be found on Amazon or in a local health food store.
